π©βπ»π¨βπ» Builder Spotlight
We are excited to start a new section, "Builder Spotlight," where we'll be shining a light on the builders in the BuidlGuidl community. In each edition, we'll feature a builder(s), mainly discussing their journey in Ethereum & what they're currently working on.
Shiv Bhonde
Meet Shiv, a Full-Stack web developer from Mumbai, India, who began his web3 journey in late 2021. Shiv was excited by the idea of a world computer and smart contracts, which led him to learn more about the Ethereum ecosystem. He came across Austin's ETH.BUILD Byzantine generals video, which inspired him to dive into the world of Ethereum.
After learning more about Ethereum and completing SpeedRunEthereum, Shiv began contributing to the BuidlGuidl community by helping others who got stuck during the challenges. During this time, Shiv saw Carlos drop a GitHub issue for Scaffold-ETH, and he decided to help fix the problem. Shiv worked with Carlos, which led him to gain a deeper understanding of the internal workings of Scaffold-ETH. He also became more involved in the BuidlGuidl community and contributed to projects like ETH Tech Tree and the redesign of the SpeedRunEthereum website. He's been building many projects, which you can find on hisΒ builder profile.
Shiv's contributions caught the attention of many, and he is now contributing full-time toΒ Scaffold-ETH 2.0.
One aspect thatβs very important to him is that all the projects are open-source which keeps him contributing. Leaving it with a quote from Shiv:
Doing SRE and contributing is the best thing of my life, I actually really got a good sense of Ethereum and the whole mental model of building on top of it, also got the sense of the role I had to play in this open system and put it forward.
Damu Martinelli
Meet Damu, a talented software engineer from Argentina who's been building web apps since the '90s. He's a startup founder, CTO, and teaches data science at university. When the pandemic hit, Damu finally had the time to dive deeper into Ethereum and smart contract development. He was blown away by the potential of building apps with money and value inside them.
Damu connected with Austin on theΒ EthernautDAO forum, which led him to work on a project to build the Quadratic Diplomacy project (then called pay.party) at Gitcoin's Moonshot Collective. Since then, Damu's been buildingΒ all sorts of web3 dApps, many around theΒ LoogieVerse, some of them related to randomness, NFTs, and games with the BuidlGuidl. Damu loves the culture at BuidlGuidl and the freedom to work on whatever he wants. He also contributed toΒ projects for ETHDenver 2023, like purchasing food app and Bufficorn Swap Trait.
Weβre super grateful to have Shiv & Damu in the community & excited to work on more projects together. Thank you for all the great contributions!
