Let's talk about some of the builders in the BG community. Meet Mark and Supernovahs, two passionate Ethereum developers who have made significant contributions to the community!
MarkΒ
Introducing Mark, a skilled developer from Iowa who became interested in Ethereum and cryptocurrency in June 2021. Mark dove deep into a full-stack Ethereum development tutorial after being drawn in by tweets about the technology. He was intrigued by the concept of programmable money and continued to explore the depths of the Ethereum world.
Mark discovered a post by Austin Griffith on the EthernautDAO forum offering Ethereum development mentoring, which covered various topics. After reaching out to Austin, he got a list of resources, including eth.build, which solidified his understanding of the fundamentals.
Mark's first project was a blind auction utilizing the commit/reveal pattern. He also developed an application showcasing the use of the Optimism SDK in a dApp for depositing and withdrawing tokens. As a TypeScript enthusiast, Mark eagerly contributed to the TypeScript versions of the Speed Run Ethereum challenges, working with fellow BuidlGuidl member Shravan on the scaffold-eth TypeScript version. Together, they entered a Lens hackathon and developed a Patreon clone, winning a prize in one of the categories.
After their hackathon success, Aave approached Mark and he joined the team in June 2022 and has been working on building the future of finance ever since. We are excited to have Mark in the community!
Supernovahs
Meet Supernovahs, a 22-year-old based in Delhi with a passion for web3 development. Previously an accountancy student, Supernovahs tried his hand at blogging and stock trading before delving into crypto during the peak bull market in mid-2021. When the bear market hit, he decided to try his hand at programming in web3, stumbling upon Austin through a Hackathon organized by Polygon Road to Web3.
Supernovahs found scaffold-eth to be a great tool to learn, joining the Telegram channel and doing speed run ethereum challenges to learn something new each time. His most difficult challenges were the Dex and Multisig challenges, taking him four months to complete. In March 2022, he joined BuidlGuidl, building tools and prototypes that piqued his curiosity.
In April-May, Supernovahs did a 2-month fellowship at Harmony's zkDao, where he learned how to write circuits and built some projects using it. Since then, he has been participating in contests, trying to understand the mindset of a whitehat auditor and studying new protocols and reading past reports.
Supernovahs is a fellow at Yacademy, focusing on creating his own method for auditing and finding his mistakes. He is also contributing part-time to RareSkills as a research engineer. His goals for 2023 and beyond include becoming a senior watson at sherlock, getting expert level proficiency in Rust, & attending conferences. You can catch him on Twitter!
We're excited to see what they achieve next in the ever-evolving world of web3!
